On Wednesday, October 22nd, Team Unlimited was honored to host the FTC organizing committee from the Netherlands (Doede ten Cate, Leon Schroder and Henk Buisman). They all have extensive experience with the very successful Netherlands FLL program. They are in the process of starting up the first European FTC program, with equipment having recently been received for their planned six team scrimmage. They visited with several teams in the NYC area, and met with the FTC program leaders at FIRST HQ in New Hampshire. Friendly and enthusiastic, they met with our veterans and discussed various aspects of FTC, and then attended an SYRA (Sharon Youth Robotics Association) meeting for our FLL teams, before returning to our home base for a lasagna dinner (prepared by the coach's wonderful wife). We plan to support their program in any way possible, and welcome the FIRST community to encourage their activities! Their website can be found at http://www.firsttechchallenge.nl.
